Programs

ASCO is dedicated to creating connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully. Programs are an important way we serve our Autism community. Through community programming, ASCO works towards a world in which everyone is connected to the support they need, when they need it.

Birthday Club

We know that for many reasons birthdays can be difficult. We often see requests for cards being made in online support groups and we want to make sure everyone feels loved and included. For these reasons we have adopted the Birthday Club program, first created by the Autism Society of Greater Phoenix.

How does it work? It’s simple! Sign up yourself or a loved one to receive a card during your/their birth month. Our Birthday Club is open to Autistic individuals of any age!

Requirements: Card recipients must have a diagnosis of Autism and must reside in one of the 12 counties we serve.

Requests must be submitted by the 20th of the month prior to the birthday month to ensure delivery.

ASCO Safety Box

Statistics indicate that nearly fifty percent of individuals with Autism wander at one time or another. Recognizing the need to keep our loved ones safe, Autism Society Central Ohio has created this box of tools to help families protect their loved ones.

We worked with parents of individuals who elope/wander and the Autism Society of America to pick items for this box that will aid in the safety of your home/vehicle. To receive a box you MUST APPLY at the link below, we can only supply ONE BOX PER FAMILY/HOUSEHOLD. Limited boxes available.

These boxes were made possible by our partnership with the Hussman Foundation and the Columbus Firefighters Foundation.
